The exceptions: a device **someone else uses while signed in as you**, and **Shared Library** photos you hide, which go to every member's Hidden album. The answer ## What shows and what doesn't - **Other people's accounts**Not synced - **Devices signed in as you**Synced - **Hidden shared photos**In members' albums - **iCloud.com with your login**Shows Hidden Why ## Why it works this way Apple says that for photos to stay up to date on all your devices, you sign in to iCloud with **the same Apple Account** on every device. Devices on other accounts have their own libraries. If a family iPad is signed in to **your** account, it is one of your devices as far as iCloud Photos is concerned, and it gets your Hidden album. A Shared Library is the one place your hiding reaches other accounts: a shared photo you hide goes to every participant's Hidden album. 2 steps ## Check which Apple Account a device uses 1. **Open Settings.** On the other device, open **Settings**. Your name and email at the top are its Apple Account. 2. **Check iCloud › Photos.** Tap the name, then **iCloud › Photos**. If **Sync this iPad** is on and the account is yours, your Hidden album is there. > A private album that never syncs its lock to anyoneVaultForYou keeps the photos, videos and documents you choose in a private vault that opens only with a pattern you draw. Not if they use their own Apple Accounts. iCloud Photos syncs your Hidden album to devices signed in to your account. Two exceptions: a device that is signed in as you, and photos you hide from an iCloud Shared Photo Library, which move to every participant's Hidden album. ### How do I check which Apple Account an iPad is using? Open Settings on the iPad. Your name and email address at the top show the Apple Account it uses; Apple notes your email address is your Apple Account. Tap it, then iCloud, then Photos, to see whether it syncs your photo library.
